2026 didn’t go quite to plan. So I had to make a new plan.
It started as expected, until it didn’t. One Tuesday morning I logged into my work laptop to find an urgent meeting had been booked in. When the call starts with ‘I will be reading from a script…’ you immediately know what is coming Redundancy.
Your emotions go from panic, fear and worry one week, to acceptance and excitement the next, then back to panic, fear and worry. Luckily for me I had 5 months left to work therefore 5 months to make a plan.
I have always loved crafting, upholstery, sewing, upcycling so I decided that to treat this unexpected news as an opportunity. So from this, The Upholstress was born.
