A low profile, rectangular footstool that blends modern design with a cosy rural aesthetic. The fabric is wool, made locally to me in Guiseley. It features a classic block check design in shades of red and grey, with a subtle herringbone tweed detailing in the weave.

The legs have been stained with dark oak.

Dimensions are approximately: Height: 24cm x Length: 58cm x Width: 37cm

The footstool complies with the current UK fire regulations.

A standout fabric noticeboard made with this beautifully soft doughnut print fabric. This would make a statement in any room. It has a layer of foam to give it a soft, plush look.

Dimensions are approximately 33cm high, 52cm long, 3cm deep.

To attach to wall you could use picture hooks/nails/screws or the hanging strips. Please note that these are NOT included.

Who is behind The Upholstress?

Hi, I’m Alex, the lady behind The Upholstress. I handmake all the furniture and soft furnishings from a small studio in Pudsey, Leeds.

I have always had an interest in upholstery, sewing, upcycling and crafting; and at the start of 2026 I found myself facing redundancy. I decided to turn this into an opportunity to build a career I love, which could fit around my busy life with 2 small children.

What will you find at The Upholstress?

Here is a snapshot of what The Upholstress is all about and what you will find on this site:

  1. Handmade furniture such as footstools, and headboards.

  2. Custom orders for furniture (e.g. if you wanted a certain colour/fabric/pattern).

  3. Upcycling old furniture to stop it being thrown away.

  4. Soft furnishings e.g. lightshades, cushions, fabric noticeboards.

  5. Using scraps to stop them going to landfill e.g. bookmarks/bags (I also donate unwanted scraps to a non-profit charity)

  6. One of my passions is finding pre-loved items and you might find some for sale on here!
